Playing Flash video (flv) files inside flash is a part of every other Flash project these days, but one of the issues I routinely face is the frame rates of the flv file and Flash movie. Flv are usually exported at 25 or 30 fps whereas Flash movies are done at faster rates, so question here is how do you play the flv movie inside Flash at faster rate?
Flash developers tend to make this mistake that they need to re-encode the flv video at faster rate matching the Flash movie but that won’t do the job and also not possible most of the time.
The solution is very easy and it’s not well known, at least I did not know this until after lot of experimenting in Flash. To play the flv video at faster stage frame rate of Flash movie, change the movie frame rate to flv frame rate and just go ahead and import the flv file using embed option. After the import has been done, now change the Flash movie frame rate back to original.
Now test play the Flash movie and you have your flv playing at faster frame rate.
