SSO gets members through the door, but a useful member website needs a clear destination. The Business and Developer editions of PI WP Suite for MemberClicks Trade turn supported Trade identity and Profile data into a branded WordPress portal, directory and resource experience.

Start with a managed member dashboard
The Member Portal wizard assigns supported features to WordPress pages. The dashboard can combine profile details, personal events, education, groups, directory access and permitted WordPress resources.
Administrators decide which modules appear rather than forcing every tenant into the same screen. This matters because MemberClicks Trade modules and permissions vary between organizations.
Choose Card, Glass or Flat UI
The portal offers three visual directions:
- Card: clear content groups with conventional surfaces.
- Glass: translucent panels and layered colour for a modern interface.
- Flat: restrained presentation for sites with an established design system.
Each can use Full Width, Header Banner or With Navigation layouts. Brand colours and section controls help the portal fit the surrounding WordPress theme.
Publish a Profile-based member directory
The Member Directory can use Grid, List or Compact views. Administrators choose search visibility, page size, public fields and profile-detail behaviour.
Privacy is deliberate:
- Public directory fields are one selection.
- Private My Profile fields are another selection.
- Tenant permissions determine what the API can return.
Organizations are derived from Profile records and can link back into filtered directory results.
Display read-only member data
My Profile shows selected fields for the signed-in member. My Events displays available registration or attendance information. Education & Credits can present transcripts and certificates when Continuing Education is active and accessible.
The stable plugin treats Trade data as read-only. This protects the accuracy of product claims and keeps administrators from designing workflows around unverified write operations.
Connect roles to portal access
The Member Sync & Roles tab discovers compatible member types and groups from the connected tenant. Business maps them to WordPress roles and configures lifecycle rules. Developer activates lifecycle execution and scheduled reconciliation.
These roles can control:
- Portal resources
- Restrict Content rules
- Course access
- Board or committee pages
- Chapter materials
- Download libraries
The Access Library then gives each member a convenient list of permitted WordPress resources.
Place features with widgets
Widgets are useful outside the full portal. Standard includes login, events and supported groups. Business and Developer add profile and directory widgets.
Each widget displays its edition requirement in the administration interface. A lower edition does not silently output a premium feature.
Place features with shortcodes
Shortcodes support pages, posts, text widgets and compatible page builders. Useful examples include:
[pi_mc_trade_dashboard]
[pi_mc_trade_my_profile]
[pi_mc_trade_profiles style="grid" page_size="12"]
[pi_mc_trade_education page_size="25"]
[pi_mc_trade_organizations]
[pi_mc_trade_content limit="12" post_type="page,post"]
The Shortcodes tab groups these by purpose and edition. Future or write-dependent groups are removed from the stable interface.
Keep pages responsive with caching
Trade data arrives over an external API, so sensible caching is part of the member experience.
- Standard applies automatic one-hour caching.
- Business provides freshness and traffic presets.
- Developer sets durations by resource and can use shortcode-specific overrides.
Developer also adds incremental directory synchronization, retry queues and a health report for larger Profile datasets.
Use Support before publishing
The Support tab provides setup guidance, connection status, resource checks and a diagnostic download that excludes secrets.
Before publishing a portal:
- Verify the license edition.
- Test API credentials and the tenant header.
- Complete SSO callback registration.
- Audit readable resources.
- Discover member types and groups.
- Configure public and private fields separately.
- Preview portal themes and layouts.
- Test with representative member accounts.
A flexible member website without replacing Trade
MemberClicks Trade remains the membership system of record. WordPress supplies publishing, design, protected content and the wider plugin ecosystem.
That division lets an organization use a WordPress LMS, document library, community platform or page builder while keeping identity and supported member context connected through PI WP Suite for MemberClicks Trade.
