One generic events page rarely serves every audience. A chamber may need separate pages for networking, training and regional events. An association may need conference, webinar and chapter calendars. The Events workspace in PI WP Suite for MemberClicks Trade is designed for exactly this publishing model.
With PI WP Suite for MemberClicks Trade, an administrator can assign event catalogues to any number of WordPress landing pages without manually rebuilding event cards.
Add events to a landing page using a form
The Event Landing Pages sub-navigation provides a guided form. Instead of asking an administrator to write a long shortcode from memory, it lets them:
- Select an existing WordPress landing page.
- Choose the event layout.
- Select two or three columns for a grid.
- Set the number of records per page.
- Apply supported event filters.
- Decide whether visitors may see filtering controls.
- Save another assignment for another landing page.
There is no single-page limit. Administrators can create as many event-page assignments as their content strategy requires.
Build focused calendars with filters
Available filters depend on the Trade Events response and documented API parameters. The builder supports practical values such as keywords, postal or ZIP code, date-related criteria and other tenant-supported selections.
That makes it possible to create pages such as:
- Upcoming professional-development events
- Events near a selected ZIP code
- Annual conference sessions
- Chapter or regional programmes
- Networking events
- Public webinars
- A compact homepage event list
The saved configuration produces consistent output while leaving the source event data in MemberClicks Trade.
Grid, list, two-column and three-column layouts
Different landing pages need different visual density. A three-column grid works well for a broad event catalogue. A two-column grid gives descriptions and thumbnails more room. A list is better for chronological scanning or narrow content areas.
The plugin includes Card, Glass and Flat event catalogue themes. Administrators can review a demonstration preview while choosing colours and presentation. The preview uses safe demonstration content, so a design decision does not depend on a successful live API request.
Every event gets a visual
Event records can display their available thumbnail. When an event has no image, the plugin uses a placeholder rather than leaving a broken or awkward blank area.
Consistent image space improves both grid rhythm and list readability. It also gives editors a predictable page even when older Trade event records lack media.
Choose which visitor filters appear
An administrator may hide the filter interface entirely or expose only useful fields. A broad public calendar might show keyword, date and location filters. A tightly focused conference page may need no visitor filters because its saved query has already narrowed the catalogue.
Separating the saved API filter from the visitor-facing filter is useful: the page can have a fixed purpose while still allowing visitors to refine results within that purpose.
Pagination that does not fight WordPress
Event catalogues use isolated pagination parameters so they do not conflict with the main WordPress page query. This matters on archive-like pages, page-builder layouts and sites where WordPress already uses its own paged value.
Administrators can therefore publish multiple event experiences without accidentally changing the pagination state of the surrounding website.
Virtual event detail pages
The Virtual Event Pages section can create individual event URLs without requiring editors to create a permanent WordPress page for every event record. Administrators select which API response fields are visible on the detail screen.
Because API-backed virtual URLs may disappear when records are removed or routes change, the plugin recommends keeping these pages noindex. That warning helps prevent search engines from indexing temporary URLs that could later become 404 responses.
If long-term organic search traffic is a priority, create stable editorial landing pages for evergreen topics and use virtual pages as the detail layer.
Shortcode control remains available
Teams that prefer the block editor, a page builder or direct shortcode placement can use examples such as:
[pi_mc_trade_events keyword="conference" layout="grid" columns="3" page_size="12"]
or:
[pi_mc_trade_events layout="list" show_filters="0"]
The form-based builder and shortcode approach use the same underlying event capabilities. The form is faster for administrators; the shortcode remains useful for developers and reusable content patterns.
Event publishing is included in Standard
Public Events shortcodes, landing-page assignments, virtual pages and the event widget are included in Standard, Business and Developer. Business and Developer add the broader portal and personal member-data experience, while Developer adds deeper performance and synchronization controls.
